President’s Report 2025
Dear EEEAA Members,
Another year passes and it is my second time preparing this report for all of you. Many things have happened in the past year and I’m excited to share it with you. We have many exciting initiatives completed and coming up with the School of EEE as well as with external industry collaborators. In this fast changing uncertain times we’re in, we hope that these initiatives will help build communities and skills that we need in order to weather hard times.
The first bit of news I have to share is that the School of EEE and EEEAA are working together to help facilitate the launch of the EEE Alumni Circles abroad! The EEE Alumni Circles are intended to function just like EEEAA in Singapore, except that they are based in other countries. Presently, we have Alumni Circles in China, Vietnam, Malaysia, India and Indonesia. These alumni circles are intended to be connected to us in EEEAA and share close ties. As Asia grows in influence in global affairs and economy, we will have a network of alumni that we can reach out to beyond Singapore’s borders.
Beyond NTU, we have stepped up our collaboration with various organisations. For the upcoming Annual Mobile Legends Esports Tournament, itself a collaboration with SPMSAA, we have collaborated with Custom PC Maker, Dreamcore and accounting firm, FOZL Group. Both companies were founded by EEE Alumni and have made waves in their own industry. I am proud of what our alumni have achieved and I want our alumni to know our association’s network remains open to all our members, for future collaboration and support.
If you are reading this with the intent of attending our AGM, you might have realised that this year’s AGM is held at the new venue for NTU Alumni Club. The topic of agm this year will also be a panel about navigating a world with AI technology. While AI has brought tools that have helped us achieve tasks, it has probably also had an impact on graduate employment rates, with EEE’s employment rate dropping from 87% to 79 % from 2023 to 2024. I want to acknowledge the realities of the situation, and while there are no easy solutions available, helping our members thrive and tackle the job market and environment remains something of paramount importance to us in the EEE Alumni Association.
In the upcoming year or so, our committee is partnering with the school of EEE to help mentor students of EEE in their development and their career. I’m excited for you to learn more about it when EEE shares more details, and moving ahead we will continue to look into how we can continue supporting our members through uncertain times with community and mentorship.
Thank you.
Neo Duan Kai
President
